March Devotional – Love hearts with messages of love
My mum used to give these sweets to me and I have given them to my children also -love hearts with little written messages of love.
Our hearts were made by God in his likeness and those qualities He loves to demonstrate can help us to know what He is like. Psalm 33:15 (NIV) ‘He made their hearts and understands everything they do’.
His messages of love are forgiveness, mercy, patience and faithfulness amongst others.
We all have flaws that need work but He is the potter and we are the clay. He can polish and shape us into exactly who He had in mind, we just need to open our hearts to Him.
Lent is a time where we can choose to abstain from many things such as chocolate or even fast. At this time, can we be challenged to allow God to speak deeply into our hearts when we are critical of ourselves?
Let us be thankful for all the beautiful things He has hand fashioned in us. Psalm 139: 13-14: ‘… for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.’
How does it make us feel to know that the ultimate crafter – Almighty God fashioned our hearts individually?
