Start your day: Worship and a word from Fiona

Teach Me Your Ways Lord.

Be an example to all believers, in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity. 1 Timothy, 4-11

It’s wonderful when Christians can gather together for the teaching of God’s word, in order that we may live more wisely whatever our circumstances.

Coming together for our Activate weekend is always an opportunity to grow spiritually, through the inspiring teaching we receive - and the encouragement, as speakers describe their own experiences of how they have coped in the tough times, through obedience to God’s word.

In a description about teaching, in the New Living Translation, it says; “God reveals Himself as a teaching God. From the writings of the Old Testament to the teaching ministry of Jesus and the Apostles, God encourages the intentional and accurate teaching of the truth. He warns us to be wary of false teaching that can distort our thinking and values and lead our souls to destruction.”

We also have a responsibility to pass on these truths to the next generation in order that they don’t go astray.

Romans 10, 14-15. How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him and how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?

We have to be good role models as well as teachers in order that they can learn from our example and don’t go astray.

In Psalm 78 it says - We will not hide these truths from our children, but will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord.

Heavenly Father, help me not only to tell others about your love for us and your glorious deeds, but to demonstrate it through the way I live my life. Amen.

From 3pm Check-in and refreshments (Cedar Room)

Check in

When you arrive, you don't need to go to the Reception desk.  When you enter the foyer, turn right and you'll see the Bar, just head through there, and you will see the team and the hotel staff, ready to welcome you. If you'd like just to collect your room key and take your bags straight to your room, that's fine, but don't forget to come back to make your name badge, collect your short version of the programme, and receive your gift! Take time to look at our 'on arrival' list on the information page, so you don't miss anything.

Refreshments are available outside the Main Room and on the Mezzanine (from 3pm).

5.30-6pm (on the Mezzanine)

Connect

If it's your first time with us, you've come on your own, or you want to get to know new people, then this is for you. I know you have to be brave to go to a Connect but it's worth the moment of awkwardness to get up there because once you've met a couple of the team and others in the same boat, you'll feel more at home!

Menu Checkers

If you have any dietary requirements and would like a bit of reassurance from the chef, this is your opportunity.  We have informed the hotel already of anything you told us about, so this is only if you have particular concerns.

Miss Activate meet-up

If you are at school or college, it would be great if you could pop up and meet the others your age. Bring someone along this time if you're not sure about it!  There will be other opportunities to gather over the weekend and our Miss Activate leader, Polly will let you know.

5.30-7.30pm Evening meal
7.30-9.00pm Main Session 1

Worship Leader: Sue Rinaldi, Host: Rhiannon Goulding, Keynote Speaker: Sarah McKerney

Sarah McKerney introduces our theme for the weekend Undivided based on Psalm 86. With our hearts firmly set on God, how can we direct our individual gifts, talents and passions to help our families, churches and communities to be undivided?

9.00pm Refreshments (outside Main Room and on Mezzanine)
9.30pm Fun and Entertainment (Main Room)

The best way to meet people! Don't worry if you come on your own, we'll get you into a winning team! There will also be space to chill out together.
