Start your day: Worship and a word from Fiona

That I May Rely on your Faithfulness.

The Lord is Faithful: He will make you strong and guard you from the evil one.

2 Thessalonians 3.3

If through studying Scripture we discover the faithfulness of God to those who trusted Him, we realise that we CAN rely on His faithfulness, trusting Him even in the most difficult circumstances. As we read through the Old Testament we see that God expects faithfulness from His people in order for Him to be faithful to them.

We all know how precious it is to have family and friends who stick by us in our difficult times, to support us and give us strength to cope - so it is with God at our side, as we trust Him.
We must remember that Christianity is based on God’s faithfulness to us and when we trust Him, we are showing our response to His love for us, even when times are hard.

We might rely on God’s faithfulness to us, but are we faithful to others, fulfilling promises and agreements? Are we trustworthy, when others need our help and support, or do we shy away from such responsibilities?
Only by keeping our eyes on Jesus can we remain faithful - it isn’t always easy, but it has the best results!

Romans 12.1-2. And so, dear Christian friends, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind he will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is.

Dear God, help me to trust you in all circumstances, knowing that I can rely on your faithfulness to me.
