Rhiannon chatted to her sister Sarah about exam results. Here’s what they need you to know.
Rhiannon:
Okay, so what would you say to someone who’s getting their results tomorrow — just a bit of encouragement?
Sarah:
First of all: don’t compare yourself to anyone else. You did your best in that exam, and that’s all you could do.
Please think about how and where you would like to receive your results. That might sound small, but it matters — do you want to be alone, with friends, or family? Do you want to open them straight away or wait a while? There’s no right or wrong way to do it — we’re all different.
Also remember: tomorrow is just one day. It won’t decide the rest of your life. Your results might mean you have to make some changes now, but big picture? God knows exactly what He’s doing with your life.
Just because a door opens doesn’t mean you’re meant to walk through it. And if one shuts, that’s not failure either. Listen to the right people, stay grounded in who you are in God, and trust that He’s already gone before you. He knows your results — and He’s got a perfect plan.
Rhiannon:
That’s really encouraging, thank you. And I remember you once told me about your own study journey — that you came back to education later?
Sarah:
Yeah, I’ll be honest — I didn’t do much when I was younger, I just wasn’t into it. But when I hit my 40s, I decided to go for it. I started an online degree. It took me five years — most people do it in three — but I got there in the end!
So if you need to take your time, that’s okay. Slow and steady does win the race. It’s never too late, and it’s not about how fast you get there — it’s about staying on the journey.
Rhiannon:
Love that. Thank you, Sarah. You’ve really brought peace and perspective into this conversation — I know it’ll help someone else feel less alone in whatever tomorrow brings.
