Raised with Christ
Jesus truly is alive today. But compared to his atoning death, author Adrian Warnock says that “Jesus' resurrection is often only mentioned at Easter” and sparks relatively little discussion in the church. Warnock goes on to say “Not preaching about the resurrection is a major reason for the weakness, lack of joy, poor growth, spiritual decline, compromise with sin and many other problems in the church today”.

Christian Vision for Men
The Activate Dream team recently had the opportunity to meet Carl Beech, the national director of CVM. We realised how much we have in common in wanting to reach out to others with the love of Jesus in culturally relevant ways. Whilst we beilieve that our calling is to reach out to women, Carl and the CVM team are pioneering many innovative events, resources and networks for men. We hope to be able to partner together in some future training events. If you want to connect some of the men you know with CVM then click onto their website below.

God is Back / The Case for God
‘God Is Back’ by John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge of The Economist and ‘The Case For God’ by Karen Armstrong are two books that explore our relationship with God.
The number of people claiming to believe in various forms of God is rising fast almost everywhere.
Karen Armstrong's The Case For God demonstrates that
throughout history, religion was not something you thought, but something you did. It required discipline, ritual and hard work with the aim of discovering an inner dimension of your being.
Seven Pounds - A Film Review
I recently saw this film with Will Smith in the lead role. It’s almost impossible to write about it without revealing the ending but I will try. However if you are planning on watching it knowing something about the plot would be a real help because it’s one of the those films you only understand at the end.
Chocolate week
Location
October 12-18th is Chocolate week. This is a great time to have a chocolate party - especially as you will be covering up for Autumn anyway so won't be on your bikini and shorts diet any longer!
Try http://www.chocolate-week.co.uk for inspiration and do let us know what you plan to do - it might inspire someone else.
A beautiful song on You Tube
This is a lovely song by Ryan Kelly with good images called, 'Broken Things' which a friend sent to me today and I want to pass on to you. It has very moving lyrics about our broken hearts and God's promise to make all things new. Enjoy...
