Activate in ten phrases?!?

This was our challenge- sum up all that Activate Your Life stands for in ten short phrases. A new banner with the correct web address was needed. We wanted to move away from pictures of women, always a bit restrictive- white, middle class looking, a certain age. We chose a symbol of three females standing together. Then there was space for some text. We could put our strap line- a network to resource and inspire Christian women to share God's love with their friends, neighbours and work colleagues. But sentences are too wordy.

Fresh Start

Could January be a refreshing time for you, when you make a positive new beginning in your faith journey or within a particular area of your life? For many people January is all about debt, dieting and depression but we don't have to take our positive attitudes and pack them into the loft with our Christmas decorations. We can make a decision to make the best of our situation with God's help.

A New Christmas song - Emmanuel is born tonight

My friend Rebecca Walker-Jones has written and posted a fabulous Christmas song -

She is delighted to have it shared and used by the Christian community. You can catch some of her other work on Youtube.

Digital nativity

Did you see this last year? I was shown it at a Christmas day service and loved it.
http://youtu.be/GkHNNPM7pJA

It uses all the latest digital and communication media of today's world to tell the story of Jesus' birth. Maybe you can share it this year? What is your favourite version?

Toddlers stories

We have a toddlers group which has a very short illustrated bible story each week, as part of our story and singing time. Does anyone have any resources of short stories which they use in such situations or could we share ideas? Any thoughts welcome. Ali Moss. alisonmoss123@hotmail.com

Better Together

Is anyone planning to go to the Better Together event on 10th March in London, from the Southampton/Winchester area? Would you be interested in sharing transport. I would like to advertise this event more widely but am not sure what to do about transport. Any ideas welcome. Thank you. Ali Moss. alisonmoss123@hotmail.com

God is amazing! Shane's story...

This is an excellent Youtube clip sent to me by Fiona Castle of an interview by Nicky Gumbell of a great guy called Shane Taylor. He tells us, in his own words, of his story, through years of drugs and violence to his conversion in prison.
It is great to be reminded of how God can work through all kinds of situations and transform lives through the work of the Holy Spirit and those who are faithful and reach out to others.
Do you have a conversion story you can share to inspire others?

Thank you

Just to say Thank you for a fantastic weekend and all your hard work, we are now looking forward to holding our own local conference in Thame, Oxon in the autumn. I hope you all get a well earned rest and feel very blessed this week.

Ask Alison Winter 2011

My experiences as a relationship therapist are teaching me that just when I think I've got something sorted, along comes another situation that throws me! With this in mind, I'm always on the look out for simple tools to use with my clients that will help them bring about the understanding and outcomes they seek.

I recently attended a workshop by one of the country's leading experts on relationships. He talked about his 'Change equation' that he uses with his couples work. I found it very simple and easy to use and am already seeing positive results. So here it is
